Timothy Bailon - Kewa (Santo Domingo Pueblo, New Mexico)

In a market rife with imitators, Timothy has a very distinct style for a significant portion of his work.  I was instantaneously drawn to it.  It really is beautiful.  The work I purchased from him was all acquired in 2012 and 2013 (much remains unposted). He can be difficult to contact so I got what I could on the few occasions I saw him, which, at that time, was maybe once a year.

Last I saw Timothy, in 2014, he was spending a lot of time caring for his ill mother (also a jewelry artist - I have a piece of her work as well). When time and circumstances allow, he was also doing construction work; busy guy.  His oldest son had just graduated from high school which amazed me because Timothy just doesn't look old enough (to me) to have a kid of that age!  Unfortunately, this probably says more about my age than his...  

The pieces I have vary in what their metal content is. Some things are silver, some a base metal that is plated with silver, and/or sometimes base metal only.  He's the artist, his choice.  I provide as much information as I can about all work I carry.  If I'm not certain something is silver, I say so,even if it might be.

That said, it is really important to note, I don't buy Timothy's work for the  "precious metal" (silver).  I buy it for the art.  I think the artwork outweighs the metal content, my guess is, you will feel the same.   If you purchase something and you are not happy with it, you may return it according to our terms and conditions.

There are dozens, if not hundreds of Kewa Pueblo members crafting various mosaic work, the bulk of which is indistinguishable.  I've only seen one other person do anything like Timothy's work; I've regretted ever since not stopping to ask if they were related in some way.
